Straightforward and honest. Is generally chill and coolheaded. Easy to talk to. A perfectionist when it comes to his own work and quite a bit of a workaholic. Internally self deprecates often. Occasionally sarcastic. Very empathetic and understanding. A good listener, but also a good speaker when he needs to be. Selfless. Carelessly selfless at times to protect those he cares about even at the cost of physical and mental state.
He grew up in an apartment surrounded by a ghetto neighborhood inside the Brooklyn area of New York City with a younger sister and immigrant parents. When he was only three, his father would suddenly die of brain aneurysm, forcing his mother to single handedly take care of her upcoming daughter in her womb and her son. Life afterwards would continue to be relatively normal for someone living under poor conditions. He would befriend and become close to other kids living within the same building as him, who were mostly minorities just as he was. Unfortunately most of them didn't stick around long for a variety of issues like money or getting new opportunities.
When he was thirteen, his sister of only ten years would suddenly also die of a brain aneurysm, much like her father. This would devastate him and his mother significantly, but they would both eventually push through. From junior year of high school to before the apocalypse began, he worked jobs, including babysitting, which he was surprisingly great at, to support his aging mother and checked on her health frequently.
In early 2002 he moved out of New York City to Auden, Vermont as a result of being unable to feel at home anymore after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, which he had also witnessed himself. His mother stayed behind, but he kept contact with her and occasionally visited up until the start of the apocalypse.
In early 2006, his mother would suddenly be diagnosed with metastatic cancer that limited her time to live down to six months, leading her to have to be moved into hospice care. She would ultimately succumb to her disease just prior to the start of the infection.
