Personality:

A generally peaceful man. Well disciplined and good natured. Stoic. Respectful and understanding. Sometimes overprotective as a result of wanting to prevent others from enduring trauma. Enjoys having full on discussions and just engaging with his fellow peers, but prefers most just being a spectator. Will only use violence if truly necessary (like a zombie apocalypse), but otherwise will always try to find a way to deal with conflict without it, as a result of his history as a veteran.

History:

He grew up the youngest of four sons to heavily catholic, conservative middle class parents in Utah. He was very obedient and taught to never question authority. His parents were also very strict when it came to following their faith, to the point of physically or emotionally abusing them whenever he and his siblings were supposedly “disobeying the word of god”. This would lead him to have heavy paranoia in his youth of getting caught doing anything that fell out of the interests of his family.

Early on he found an enjoyment of jazz but could only listen in secret as his family considered it devil’s music. This led to him wanting to pursue a career playing music as a drummer throughout his school years, until he decided to get drafted in the military amidst the Vietnam War. He would serve and fight there until the signing of the Paris Peace Accords in 1973. Much like other soldiers, this would significantly traumatize him. However it would also completely change his outlook on religion and the government. He completely abandoned his faith and now had resentment towards his family, cutting contact with them. His belief in the government dwindled completely.

He would undergo frequent on and off therapy that helped him recover enough to get back to a stable state of mind in less than six years. Around the end of this period, he would move east to Vermont in search of a quieter life. The years onward, he would get a job and live well off by himself doing it until he was suddenly laid off after nearly three decades of working there. He attempted to get other jobs, but they simply weren’t enough to pay for rent and other needed transactions. He would be evicted and ultimately become homeless.
